This
year’s Easter celebration was definitely one of the best. Lakelyn was in a great mood all weekend! We got to see all the family from back home
and eat lots of wonderful Grandma food!
Here
is how the weekend went—WARNING: Picture overload!
Lakelyn
woke up with Grandma Vicky on Saturday morning and helped make breakfast. She thought the cookie cutters were good bracelets!
After
lunch was the Easter Hunt. My mom did
this last year for Lakelyn, one day she will appreciate it, until then we get
to help her!
My mom had picture clues on
cut out bunny ears. Super cute!
Granny
got to help Lakelyn with the first clue and then Daddy helped her with the
rest.

Her
basket was filled with Fruit snacks, Nilla Wafers, crackers, Touch and Feel
bunny book, 2 spring/summer outfits and 2 light up toys! She also got a toy barn filled with animals.
Of
course she went straight for the fruit snacks and said “apple” which is her
version of open cause apparently she can pronounce her o’s.
I had
to get a picture of her in the basket like last year to compare!

(My dang camera put a sun spot on most of my outdoor pictures, GRR!!)
Then
on Sunday we went to my Grandma Sues house, Lakelyn’s Great Grandma (we call
her granny). While we waited on lunch we
enjoyed the sun on the deck.
A
lot of our friends tell us that Lakelyn gets her facial expressions from me….until
I was going though pictures and saw this one I didn’t believe them.
After
lunch we headed outside for an adult + Lakelyn egg hunt. The eggs were filled with candy but some had
a number on them. You got a prize based
on the number you found.
Uncle
Nick got bunny ears!
Watching
the boy’s burn off lunch with a little family football.
Lakelyn
was not a fan of the bunny ears.
Around
3pm we headed back home.
We
had to get home so Lakelyn could have her final East Egg hunt at home with us.
Her
eggs were filled with flower marshmallows.
One of them popped open when she put it in her bucket so she took
advantage and started eating them!
This
was her face everytime she found an egg, pure joy and excitement that she found
another one!!
Muscle
baby carrying all those eggs!!
The
Easter bunny brought Lakelyn a potty chair, sidewalk chalk, duck bubbles,
cotton candy, braclets and a toy wind up chick.
She
loved her bucket and took it everywhere with her the rest of the night.
Including to come out and blow some bubbles.
It
was really windy so she couldn’t catch any but I think she still enjoyed
watching them float away.
Once
back inside she enjoyed walking around with her duck bubbles because they were
fun to swing around and yes she was supervised.
Apparently
they needed to be washed.
The
weekend was one for the books! Luke and
I had so much fun spending the weekend with Lakelyn and family. Not sure it could have gotten any better!
