Lake of the Ozarks

Last weekend we took the long 4 hour drive down to Luke’s parent’s lake house at the Lake of the Ozarks.  We drove down on Friday as soon as we got off work at 5pm.

Luke and I have worked really hard to not have a “TV” baby.  But because of the long drive we decided to invest in a DVD system for our car.  It’s just a small 8 inch screen that plays DVD’s that we hang from the headrest.  We put in an Elmo DVD first and she was entertained for maybe 30 min. Luckily on the way down she fell asleep for most of the trip.  On the way back not so much.  This time we put in Madagascar, again she was entertained for about 30 minutes and then she was done.  I guess not having a “TV” baby may have back fired on us.

We spent all day on Saturday on the dock relaxing.  Lakelyn enjoyed playing in the water, well kind of, it was still a little cold.  We went out to eat that night at my favorite restaurant, Franky and Louie’s!

If you follow me on Instagram  (@firstcamethebaby) then you will have already seen some of these pictures.

Once we finally arrived we had some much needed drinks on the dock

Lakelyn thought it was funny to put the leash on the dogs tails.

They did not think it was funny!

Upload Instagram Videos on Blogger

I am addicted to Instagram especially now that you can take video.  However, when I went to upload my pictures on blogger I realized I had to figure out how to upload the videos.

Here is the easiest way I found how to do it until Instagram comes out with embedded codes.

Log into your Instagram through the internet and click on the video you want to upload.

Copy the URL link

And add embed at the end of it.

Copy this code and insert your URL link code where it says to do so:

<iframe frameborder="0" height="292" src="INSERT YOUR URL LINK?byline=0&amp;portrait=0" width="417px"></iframe>

This is what it should look like:

Copy this code and insert your URL link code where it says to do so:
<iframe frameborder="0" height="292" src="http://instagram.com/p/a3WpB7l_Ba/embed?byline=0&amp;portrait=0" width="417px"></iframe>

Copy this code into your HTML post.

WALA! You now have your instagram video in your post!

Jamaica- Part 3

You can read part 1 here and part 2 here of our honeymoon in Jamaica.

Day 6- Saturday

For our last full day we booked an all day excursion which included 3 stops, the Black River, YS Waterfalls and the Appleton Rum Factory tour.  We left our resort at 8am on a bus with about 10 other people.  Our first stop was the Black River.  We all hopped on a large pontoon boat to take up the river.  On the river we got to see lots of crocodiles and a lot of really neat Jamaican vegetation, this was about an hour long.  Then we took a short bus ride up to restaurant in the middle of nowhere to eat lunch.  Lunch was included in our excursion so we didn’t really get to pick what we wanted to eat.  I am a picky eater and was not thrilled with any of it.  After lunch we got back on the bus to head to YS Falls.  We were dropped off to get on another tram to take us up the falls.  Once we were at the falls we walked up a long path to the falls.  We immediately had a tour guide who helped us climb the falls and took pictures what whole time.  The water was ICE cold, we weren’t cold when we got out but while in them it was freezing.  We only had 45min at this stop. After the falls we took another bus ride to the Appleton Rum Factory.  When we arrived we were served with the BEST rum punch I have ever had.  We watched a short video and then the tour began.  The rum punch hit me hard and I was feeling good fast!  After the tour we took a LONG bus ride back to our resort.  Once we go back we showed up, ate dinner and finished the night at the martini bar.

Luke and I had an AMAZING time in Jamaica.  I am so glad we got to go on a trip like this.  We are very blessed to have great parents who split the time watching Lakelyn while we were gone.  We could not wait to get back to the states to see her!
