Work Christmas Party

This last weekend Luke had his work Christmas Party.

His company had his party at a hotel about 30 min away from where we live. So my mom came up to watch Lakelyn so that Luke and I could stay the night.
Here are some picture right before we left.

I know we don’t have any shoes on but we were in a hurry to get out the door and I wanted a picture showing the bottom of my dress.

Dinner was amazing. They had turkey, rolls, macaroni bar, meat and cheese tray, all sorts of finger food appetizers, mashed potatoes, fruit and about 5 different desserts to pick from. After dinner the hotel had a club in the basement. We all went down to the club and drank and danced the night away! We had a blast!

Here a few pictures from the night….

Weigh In- Week 9

So I took a few days off last week and got back at it on Monday.  Getting up in the morning was HARD!  It was like I hadn’t been doing it for the 8 weeks prior.  I decided to change it up a bit this week and do half cardio and half weights.

Here is how the week went:

Monday- 3.12 miles and 503 calories burned

Tuesday- 1.91 miles and 301 calories burned + weights

Thursday- 2.18 miles and 340 calories burned + weights

The scales this morning read…………

167

2 pounds down!  This really surprised me.  These last few weeks included 2 holiday work parties with lots of food and even more drinks!  And nonstop holiday food at work but I really do try and limit myself.

Thanksgiving to Christmas HAS to be the hardest time of the year to diet.  I decided that if I can at least maintain for the next 2 weeks until Christmas then I will be happy.

What I am not looking forward to is that here in about 2 weeks everyone’s mom, dad, aunt, uncle, dog and cat will be at the gym to try and full fill there ever year new year’s resolution to lose weight.  The nice part is it only last about 4 weeks and then everyone falls off the wagon.  I was this person numerous times but not this year!

O’ Christmas Tree

A few weeks ago I got out our Christmas trees and decorations.

We have a small Christmas tree upstairs and our large one is in our basement.

Our tree upstairs is red and green with Crayola ornaments.  My grandma started each of her grandkids on an ornament series.  Each year we get a new ornament in our series.  I love this tree and look forward to getting my new ornament each year!

Normally we put this tree in our living room but since we have a mobile little one we decided the hall would be better.  That way we can still see and enjoy it but not have to tell Lakelyn NO every 5 seconds.

This is our tree and a few close ups of some of the ornaments.

Lakelyn has been VERY good about not touching the tree.  We taught her to point and say ooohhh but not to touch.  It works about 95% of the time, which I will take!

I love her expression in these pictures!

This picture melts my heart cause I can hear her saying, "oooohhh."

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cheesecakes

This has to be by far the easiest cheesecake recipe out there.

<<Ingredients>>

12 regular size Reese’s cups
(don’t by the individually wrapped “snack size”)

1 box of No Bake Jello Cheesecake Mix (makes 12 cheesecakes)

Mini Chocolate chips (optional)

<<Directions>>

1.   Place Reese’s cups in bottom of muffin/cupcake liner in pan

2.  Mix together Jello Cheesecake mix as directed on box

3.  Dollop cheesecake on top of Reese’s cups

4.  Sprinkle with mini Choc Chips if you desire

These could be made in so many variations.  I thought they would be a good finger food if you used a mini muffin pan with the small Reese’s.

Enjoy!

11 Months Old

11 months old!  It’s too close to 1 year! Lakelyn continues to grow and change from my sweet baby to my sweet toddler.  Every month that goes by seems to get better and better.  Lakelyn continues to surprise us with her very outgoing personality.

Sleeping: You still an amazing sleeper!  You go to bed between 7-8pm and wake up now closer to 7am.  A few times I have had to wake YOU up to go to daycare.  You are still only taking 1 nap at daycare but 2 at home on the weekends with us.

Eating:  Eating like a champ with “big” people food.  However you are such a SLOW eater.  Sometime you sit in your highchair for over an hour eating.  You haven’t really not eaten anything, there are times you will choose not to eat something but it’s not because you don’t like it.  You have a bottle in the morning and at night before bed but during the day its straight sippy cup. We started to transition you at the end of this month to cows milk.  You love cows milk and have had no problem switching over.  For some reason when you drink milk out of a sippy you chug and then the last swig you spit out and let it roll down your chin.  So frustrating!

Clothes: You now wear 12 month clothes!

Diaper: You wear a size 3 and 4 pampers diaper.  The 3’s seem a little tight but the 4’s are huge.  So we are using up the last of the 3’s and then switching you to 4’s.

This month you have added another 2 teeth.  You now have a tooth on each side of your front two teeth.  That makes 8 teeth total for you!

You had your first Halloween this month.  Although you couldn’t trick or treat we practiced and prepared you for next year!  You were by far the cutest Lady bug around!

We also switched you out of an infant seat to a convertible seat.

At the end of this month you turned the BIG ONE!  It was such a bittersweet moment.

Your daddy and I love you so much!

Weigh In- Week 8

This has not been a good week.

I am in a FUNK…

I have been really tired this week and getting up to workout has been H.A.R.D!

Monday I didn’t work out because I was sick all day on Sunday and still didn’t feel good in the morning.  We had my work Christmas party Saturday night and I felt like crap all day on Sunday.  I thought it was because I drank too much and was hung over but it was more my stomach then my head.   When I woke up on Monday I still felt like I could vomit and decided there was no way I was going to make it through a workout.  So I stayed in bed.

Tuesday I felt bad for not going on Monday so I went.  I busted out 2.75 miles and 423 calories, not good at all. I was so tired and could wait until I made it to 400 calories so I could quit.

Wednesday I stayed in bed.

Thursday I decided I needed to take the rest of the week off and get back on the train on Monday with a fresh start.

I worked out once this week and the scale showed it…..

169

I always tell myself no loss is better than a gain!

We have Luke’s work Christmas party tomorrow.  I plan on not eating and drinking as much and getting back in the game on Monday.

Thanksgiving

As usual Thanksgiving was at my Grandma Sue’s house back in my hometown.  Lunch was amazing and included all my favorites: turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, rolls, beets, cream corn, egg noodles, pumpkin roll and so much more!

It was also my birthday and I only turned 28!
(I thought I was turning 29)

After lunch we did what I am sure every family does...
sit around, talk and relax!
Grandma Vicky and Lakelyn
Grandpa Doug may have been a little excited to rock...

Dress up anyone?

Family Picture time!

After relaxing for a bit we headed back on the road to head to Luke’s families Thanksgiving at his Aunt Lisa’s.

Lakelyn was ready for round 2!

Homecoming 2012

Back in October we took Lakelyn to her first parade.  Growing up I loved going to our local homecoming parade.  I was in it a few times for dance and middle school band.  I also watched lots of family and friends be in the parade.  It was something to look forward to in the fall.

My mom bought Lakelyn a UCM cheerleading outfit to show her support!

It was a bit windy!

Grandma and Grandpa
Lakelyn looks so angry in this picture!

Lakelyn’s favorite part of the parade was when the bands went by and of course her great grandma, I mean Sweetie!

Read here to see why my grandma is dressed up as a clown.

After the parade we went to a local restaurant for some lunch.

Love them blue eyes!!

Go Mules!

It was a great weekend back home with quality family time and homemade food!

10 Months Old

I am a little late on getting this post up.  I had it written as soon as the month ended but didn’t have her 10 month sticker picture.  So as time continued to get away from me I gave up on getting the picture taken.  We take more than a hundred pictures of Lakelyn each month but getting the monthly sticker pictures kept getting harder and harder.  Yes, these are excuses but legit excuses.  You can barely get the girl to sit for 5 min to take the picture and getting the outfit on her without her yanking off the sticker is whole other battle.  I didn’t want to try and play catch and the sticker not show the true month of her age so I have just picked out pictures that we took during the month of her age.  Yes, I feel like a horrible mother but life goes way to quickly and I spent that time with Lakelyn, and that’s what really matters.

Sleeping: You still sleep through the night.  You go to bed between 7-8pm and wake up between 6:30-7am.  A few times you have woke up before 6am but take a bottle and sleep in past 7am!

Daycare has now cut you down to 1 nap.  This was a hard adjustment for you.  When you are old enough to move up to the 1yr old room they only take 1 nap so they are trying to get you ready for the big kid’s room!  However, at home we still allow you to take 2 naps if we think you need it, which most of the time you do!

Eating: You no longer eat any pureed baby food.  You get to eat everything we eat now.  At daycare you eat breakfast, lunch and a snack.  You also still have a 6oz bottle in the morning and before bed and 2-3 throughout the day.

Clothes: You wear 9 month clothing.

Diaper: You are still in a size 3 pampers cruiser.

You have added 2 more teeth to the current 4 you have.  You now have 2 front teeth on top and bottom and then another tooth on each side of your bottom teeth.

We are so lucky you handle teething so well.  We never know when they are going to pop through.  One day you will be laughing or hanging upside down and I will notice them.  When I know they are there then it explains the restless nights the week before.  But even then you wake up, act uncomfortable and go right back to sleep.

This month your daddy and I went to NYC and you stayed with Grandma Vicky.  I think you both equally had a great time.  However your daddy and I missed you like crazy and could not wait to get back home to see you!
