We have a Crawler!

Well it’s been an exciting week around our house!  Lakelyn has started to crawl!

Lakelyn has been so close to crawling.  Since about 7 months she has been on all fours but not taking any steps.  She would roll everywhere; get on all fours and rock and forth but no steps.  On Monday night this all changed.
Luke and I were sitting on the couch watching Lakelyn roll around on the floor.  Then all of a sudden she got up on all four and took a few steps.  We both looked at each other to confirm we both saw the same thing and then immediately got out the camera.  First we took video and then some pictures.  Then we got out our phone and took video and sent it to my parents. They were so excited for Lakleyn!  That night we went out to eat with Luke's parents and showed them the video, they were just as excited!

The next day Lakelyn crawled a little more but hadn’t really taken off yet.  I don’t think she has figured out that crawling will get her to places quicker then rolling.
Last night she crawled the most but has a weird one legged crawl. She uses one of her legs to push forward and then brings the other one up.  You really have to see it to understand it.

Is this not the funniest face?!

7 Months!

What a big girl you have become! I can’t get over how much you change each month.

Sleeping: You'r still such a great sleeper! We still try to put you to bed between 7-8pm and you always wake up between 6:30-7. If you wake up in the middle of the night you go right back to sleep without me having to come and get you. I like to think you are making up for all the long nights you put me through as a baby J

Eating: You eat everything! I haven’t seen you turn away any baby food. You have a full 4oz container of fruit in the morning and 4oz of vegetables for lunch. You have a 6oz bottle as soon as you get up and before bed. During the day you have 2-3 4 oz bottles. You are now able to pick up your snacks and put them in your mouth with ease. You have yogurt melts, cheeto looking cheesy puffs and different flavored star puffs. We have given you some small bites of banana and watermelon which you liked.

Clothes: You are now wearing 6-9 month clothes.

Diaper: You are still in a size 3 pampers cruiser

We have taken you out on the boat more this month, it has really gotten hot! We put you in your life jacket and sit you in your car seat. You fall asleep the minute the boat starts going and wake up when it stops. You are such a good baby on the boat. It really does surprise me how well you do especially because it is so hot. We only had a few days this month when it wasn’t 100 degrees or more!

This month was Daddy’s first father’s day. We took him to the Wakeboarding park in KC and then came back home and went out to eat. We got him some new swim trunks to wear this summer. He had a really good day and enjoyed spending it with the both of us.

Here you are at the beach watching daddy wakeboard!

You celebrated your first 4th of July this month!  Again you were such a trooper!  You didn’t mind the fireworks and slept through them the entire night in your room.  You bedroom is the first bed room in the house so the fireworks are really loud in your room but you didn’t seem to mind!  You got to play with one of your friends, Mason.  Wyatt showed up later but you were already in bed.

You are 7 months old here with Mason who is 10 months old!

We went to daddy's parents house for the 4th of July weekend and on the way back stopped at my mommy's parents house for dinner.  Grandma had a pool waiting for you and you had so much fun!

Grandpa is hoping to start you early on becoming a golfing champ!

You are so close to crawling!  You get up on your hands and knees but just haven’t taken the steps to move forward!  You tried to put you on the cold hard wood but you didn’t mind at all, we tried to entice you with the remote and food but you still roll to you get to them.  I know you will get it soon!

And most exciting is you now have 2 teeth!  I notice one and then the next day you had 2!  Your daddy and I were so surprised by this.  You didn’t fuss, drool or chew on anything like everyone says teething babies do. You like to make funny noises now that you have them!

5 Months!

Wow what a month this was! You woke up the day you turned 5 months with a terrible cold. I took you to the doctor and found out you had bronchitis. We got you some medicine and had to stay home for the next 2 days. I stayed home with you the first day and then Daddy and I split the next day. I felt so bad for you but you handled it so well and were such a big girl!

Sleeping: We had decided to get rid of the swaddle blanket the week you got bronchitis. The doctor said since you weren’t feeling well it would not be a good week to start this. About a week and half later you were feeling much better and Daddy and I decided it was time to break you of the swaddle. You fought sleep so hard and getting you to sleep was a huge paid. So after you started to feel better we decided the best way to go was cold turkey. We feed you your bottle and put you in bed. You cried for a few min and then rolled over to your tummy. At this time you were still having a hard time (or so I thought) rolling over in bed. On the floor you had no trouble. So I went in and rolled you back over to you back, this really made you mad and eventually you rolled back over to you tummy. After about 20-30 min of fussing you fell asleep. You never cried hard just fussed and filed your complaint. To my surprise you slept through the whole night! Previously you were waking up around 4-5 taking a bottle and then going back to sleep. From this day forward you slept through the night. The second night of no swaddle was the hardest. Again, you didn’t ever really cry hard but fussed for a lot longer than the first night, probably 45 min before falling asleep but once asleep you slept through the night. Breaking you of the swaddle was the best thing we ever did and looking back wished we would have done it at 4 months.

Eating: You are now eating 4-6 oz bottles of formula. You got your first taste of baby food this month.  Since you weren’t a fan or cereal we skipped over that and started with vegetables and then tried fruits.  We tried for 2 weeks and you didn’t really get any in your mouth.  You had a strong tongue reflex and pushed anything we put in your mouth back out.  But after a few weeks I got you to eat and surprisingly it was peas! You loved peas and hated pears! People say that most babies love fruits over vegetables but you are the opposite and love your veggies. You definitely got this from your dad, I hate vegetables. Each week we tried a new vegetable or fruit so we would know if you were allergic to anything and so far nothing!

You love to make a mess!

Clothes: You are now wearing 6 month clothes.

Diaper: You are now in a size 3 pampers cruiser

You are now sitting up on your own. Right at 5 months you could sit up and sometimes fall over but within a few weeks you were a pro. I think you really enjoyed being able to sit up on your own. You could play with different toys and look around.

You still love to roll around!

Mothers Day was this month. Your daddy did an excellent job making the day very special for me. I had breakfast in bed, lunch at one of my favorite places, snow cones and grocery shopping! It was a great day and loved being able to spend the day with both of you!

You also had your first boat ride this month!
