30 Things My Kids Should Know About Me

I found a great list of 30 things my kids should know about me on Pinterest the other day.  Sometimes I have a hard time coming up with topics to write about that I want my children to read one day and this was great help!

Although this is supposed to be 30 things in 30 days I know that will not happen.  I am going to try and do 1 or 2 topics each week not necessarily in order.

The list:

2.       Describe 3 legitimate fears you have and explain how they became fears.
3.       Describe your relationship with your spouse.
5.       What are the 5 things that make you the most happy right now.
6.       If you could have three wishes, what would you wish for?
7.       What is your dream job, and why?
8.       What are 5 passions you have?
9.       List 10 people who have influenced you and describe how.
10.    Describe your most embarrassing moment.
12.    Describe a typical day in your current life.

14.    Describe 5 and weaknesses strengths you have.
15.    Describe when you knew your spouse was the one or how I fell in love.
16.    What are your 5 greatest accomplishments?
17.    What is the thing you most wish you were great at?
18.    What do you think your spouse loves most about you?
19.    How did you feel the moment you became a parent?
20.    Describe 3 significant memories from your childhood.
21.    Describe your relationship with your parents.

25.    If you could have dinner with anyone in history, who would it be and what would you eat?
27.    What is your favorite part of your body and why?

Canada- Part 2

You can read part 1 here.

I forgot to mention in part one that during our first day when we went to the village I found this beer called Growers, I fell in love with the Peach flavor.  It tastes just like the flavored peach water that Wal-Mart sells only with a slight kick.  I bought a 6 pack and drank them all week.  Then when we got back to the states I found out that most Kansas liquor stores don’t carry it.  So if you find this beer buy one for yourself and then ship a case to me please!

The third day we were in Canada we went zip lining.  Again, way out of my comfort zone but so happy I did it.  Heights used to never bother me as a kid but now they make me extremely nervous.  We got to zip line 5 lines through the mountains at various heights but with the highest one at 170 feet.  The longest line took a little over 2 minutes to ride down.  Some of them we walked to by land and others we walked to by a hanging tree bridge, I hated those.  Luke thought it was funny and would jump and shake the bridge to make me more nervous, which made me walk faster to get to the other side.  We had 2 other couples with us so it was a lot of fun to be able to do it with people we knew.

That night after dinner we went out to a local bar and danced the night away.

On the 4th day Luke and I rented mountain bikes and rode the trails.  I really was not excited to do this. Because…

1- I haven’t been on a bike in probably 3 years
2- Apparently my butt is the only boney part of my body.  Because of this the bike I have at home I bought an extra large super think seat because when I do ride my bike by butt hurts from sitting on the seat even with the huge seat.
3- I was a little hung over from the night before and it was supposed to get up to 80 that day.  Bike riding + hot sun + hangover = no fun.

However, I sucked it up and we rented the bikes.  We first rode down to the Village and ate lunch.  After lunch we rode around Lost Lake and then up to Green lake.  Some of the hills and terrain were a little advanced but the scenery made me forget about my pounding head and aching butt cheeks. I think the trail from start to finish took us a little over 3 hours (we may have gotten lost and had to ask for help back- more the once).

That night was our final night in Whistler.  We took the Gondola up the mountain to a private dinner event on top of the mountain.  The view was breath taking.  I truly felt like I was in heaven being that high up.  We were so high in the mountains there was snow on the mountains and it was chilly!

Whistler Sunset

Friday we flew back and got to see our baby girl the next morning!  We missed her so much!

Whistler Canada was a pleasantly unexpected trip of a life time.  As I previously said this is a place Luke and I would have never picked to go to.  I LOVED Whistler and would go back in a heartbeat.  I even mentioned to Luke I think I may have had more fun on this trip then I did on our honeymoon.  Everyone in Canada was super nice!  The views and scenery were breath taking, the weather was amazing and the activities to do are endless.  I would love to live in a city like this someday.  There is no way you could ever be fat or complain about not having something to do. Only one word to describe our trip to Whistler…AMAZING!

Whistler will always have a special place in my heart!
