Marek- Birth to 1 Month

Eating- Breastfeeding was very easy for you.  You latched on immediately and nursed like a champ.  However, until my milk came in we supplemented with formula.  And once my milk came in it still wasn’t enough to keep up with your demand.  You nursed during the day and we gave you formula at night.  During the day we woke you every 2 hrs to eat and at night every 3hrs.     At night you were eating 2oz formula bottles. We did this until your 1 week appointment when we knew you were back up to birth weight and were told by the doctor we no longer needed to wake you to feed.  At one week old you were waking on your own to eat, about every 2 hours during the day and twice at night.  You were still breast feeding during the day and eating 4oz formula bottle at night.  You typically took a bottle around 8pm and then woke between 1am-2am and then again at 4am-5am.  At three weeks you were still sleeping the same however eating a few 5 oz formula bottles at night.

Sleeping- You were swaddled anytime you were sleeping.  After bringing you home from the hospital we woke you to eat every 2 hrs during the day and 3 at night.  At one week old we let you wake up when ready to eat.  After having your 8pm bottle you would sleep until around 1am-2am and then wake again around 4am-5am.  When you woke at night you weren’t mad once you ate however it took a while to get you back to sleep.  Sometimes you would be wide awake and other times the minute we put you back in the crib you would wake up and we would have to start all over again.  You would wake up again around 6:30am and I would put you in bed with me where you would nurse on and off until about 9am when we would get up for the day.

Clothes- From birth to 2 weeks you wore a few newborn outfits and 0-3 month clothes.  However, at 3 weeks you hit a growth spurt and all newborn and 0-3 month clothes were to small and you starting wearing 3 month clothes.  They were still a little big on you but the smaller sizes were too small.

Diaper-  From birth to one and half weeks old you wore a newborn diaper.  Then you switched to a size 1 diaper.

You & Me

If you haven’t already noticed I have changed my blog name once again.  I promise this is the last time.  If you remember the last time I changed my blog name it was because I found out someone personal was reading my blog which I did not want.  I was rushed into picking a new name and never really loved it.

If you knew me personally for any amount of time you would know I am a HUGE lover of Dave Matthews.  You & Me is the title of one of my favorite Dave Matthews Band songs.  Luke and I walked down the aisle to this song after being introduced as Mr. and Mrs.  I cannot explain into words the emotions I have for this song.

I felt like naming my blog, You & Me, was very fitting.  I started this blog for my children to one day read.  And when they read it they will know it was about me and them, or from their perspective, you & me.

It’s been almost 4 months since I blogged.  I contemplated changing my blog to a private setting when I started blogging again.  Recently there have been several blogs that I used to read that decided to quit and it got me thinking.  Some just quit posting and never said they were going to quit and others posted a farewell post on why they were leaving, most because of the pressure and negativity with blogging.  To my surprise I have had several people email me asking when I was going to start blogging again and how the new baby was.  It made me feel like there were people who enjoyed reading my blog and I couldn’t just disappear, as other bloggers had done to me as a reader.

So for now my blog will stay public but someday in the future I may shut this little space down and blog privately.

I have a lot to catch up on and I can’t wait to introduce you to the newest addition to our family!
