Homecoming 2013

I am WAY behind on blogging.  I just haven’t been feeling it lately; I seem to always get this way around the holidays, which is sad because these are the best moments to document.

And since this blog is kind of Lakelyn’s electronic baby book I am going to try and catch up the last few months.

One of my favorite memories growing up as a kid was my hometown homecoming parade.  I loved going every year and was in it several times.  So this year we traveled back to my hometown to take Lakelyn to the parade.  I wasn’t sure how she would do but to my surprise she did pretty well.

Her favorite parts were the candy and the horses.  She would get so excited when she saw a horse, it was really cute!

Bump #2- 20 Weeks

How Far Along:  20 Weeks

Size of baby: About the size of a banana, 6.5 inches and 10.6 oz.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +15 lbs

Maternity Clothes: Pants

Gender: BOY!!

Movement:  Yes.  I felt a few kicks after my 17 week post and then they really started around 18 weeks.

Symptoms: Acne, nothing to sever but a few spots here and there on my face and I HATE them!

Sleep: Still going good as long as I have all my pillows, I am not waking up in the night to pee…YET!

What I miss: Deli meat and alcohol.  I really could use a good margarita!

Cravings: None really.

Next Appointment: Due to the position of the baby I have to have another sono on Dec 18th and then my regular appt is on 12/31.

Looking forward to: Having this baby.  I am done being pregnant.  I want the baby to cook as long as he needs to but I am really tired of feeling FAT.  I wish I was one of those cute girls that got a belly but I feel like I look like I gained 15lbs of fat not 15lbs of baby.

Differences in last pregnancy: Other then the random acne but much is different.  I definitely feel the aches and pains sooner this time but I am sure that has more to do with second baby then differences in gender.

Last Appointment review:  We had our 20 week sono on 12/3 and confirmed we still have a baby boy!  He was laying on his tummy sucking his fingers.  Because of this they couldn’t get good shots of his heart so we have to go back next week for another sono just to look at his heart.  I am not complaining!

Turning 29

Tomorrow I turn 29.  Last year I thought I was turning 29 until my grandfather figured out I did my calculation incorrectly.  I was so relieved to find out I was only 28.

But this year as I actually turn 29 it doesn’t both me as much.  I don’t know why, it seems to just be another year.  I would have to say this past year has been one of the busiest for me.

Last October Luke FINALLY popped the question and we got engaged, one of the happiest days of my life.  I felt like after dating for 10 years there was no way he would be able to make it s surprise without me knowing.  But where he proposed I had no idea it was coming and it made out weekend in NY memorable.

Last November Lakelyn turned 1 year old.  She has truly been my pride and joy since she was born.  My life is definitely complete with her in it.  She has grown and changed so much this past year.

This past May Luke and I got married, fastest day of my life but definitely one of the best.  Luke and I have been through so much together.  Getting to stand before our friends and family to let them know we are going to be forever felt amazing.  Marriage is very important to both Luke and I and when he finally proposed then I knew it felt right to him and we would finally be together forever.  We worked hard in our relationship to get it to where it is today and I know we will work just as hard in the future if we ever have to to make it work. I look at my ring everyday and am so thankful to be his wife.

In between getting engaged in October and married in May I lost 30lbs.  It definitely wasn’t easy or fun but one of my proudest accomplishments.  I proved to myself that I can lose weight with diet and exercise and no magic pill.  Sadly being pregnant now I feel like all my hard work is disappearing slowly, which is hard.  But I lost weight once I know I can do it again!

We got to go on several trips this year, our honeymoon in Jamaica, Canada in July and Chicago a few weeks ago.

And finally we found out in August we were expecting baby #2, a boy!  I am so happy to be able to be a mommy to both a daughter and son.  I know Lakelyn will be a great big sister!

I look forward to having this baby in April and getting my body back in shape before I turn 30!
