Luke’s BIG Birthday Weekend

This past week we spent 5 whole days celebrating Luke.  On July 5th he turned the BIG 30!

On July 3rd we had our annual cul-de-sac 4th of July Party.  Everyone who lives in our cul-de-sac invites there family and friends over to eat, drink and shoot off fireworks.  This will have been our 6th year doing this.  It’s a great time had by all.

On the 4th we woke up to recover most of the day.  We napped when Lakelyn napped and then got ready for round 2.  It was a more mellow night with just the neighbors.

On the 5th, Luke’s actual birthday, we dropped Lakelyn off at daycare and spent the entire day on the Lake.  Luke and I both felt bad dropping her off at daycare but knew she would rather be inside playing with her friend then in a hot life jacket in the boat all day.  Luke got to spend the whole day doing what he loves, wake boarding!  We picked her back up at 5pm and after she went to bed Luke and I rented a movie and called it a night.

On the 6th is when we celebrated Luke’s birthday.  I rented a party bus for him and 12 of our friends to go bar hopping.  The bus picked us up at 3pm and drove us 30 minutes away to the first stop.  Our bus had no AC, so while we drank at the first stop they got it fixed and gave us an additional 2 hours of free bus time.  We continued to go from one bar to the next until we arrived back home around 10.  We ALL had an absolute blast!

On July 7th we finished the great weekend by spending the day at the zoo with Lakelyn and eating ice cream cake.  IT WAS HOT!  We waited around until 1:30pm so we could feed the giraffes, Lakelyn loves to do this and keeps saying more until all our lettuce is gone.  Its $1 per lettuce leaf so we always buy 5 which is absolutely worth it to see the big smile on her face!

It was a fantastic weekend!

  1. Looks like you all had a blast this weekend. Sadly my parent's neighbors moved away so no anual 4th of July block party for us. We still had a great time though.

BTW, I love your daughters dress. How festive!

  2. A bus to go bar hopping is genius. I might steal this idea for my hubby's 30th in Sept. :)
